Casa Rosada
Tucked into the lush hillside of Sayulita, Casa Rosada is a five-bedroom oceanfront villa that blends the privacy of a home with the service of a top-tier resort.
Designed as both my family’s retreat and an exclusive vacation rental, it features hand-made tile, curved architecture, vibrant interiors, and open-air spaces that take full advantage of 340+ days of sunshine. Ocean-view soaking tubs, outdoor showers, a rooftop lounge, and a sun-drenched pool are woven into the architecture, enhancing the home’s connection to its coastal setting.
This home has won numerous awards and accolades including being featured in Architectural Digest’s AD100 issue, highlighted as an example of the best architecture and design in Mexico.

“Shades of ochre, dusty green, deep jade, and the all-over easygoing pink reference hues that repeat throughout the region and tropical landscape.”

“I didn’t want it to feel like there was one glorious bedroom and the rest are little afterthoughts, so each of them has a little something special.”

“All building materials were sourced locally, from the stones for the bathrooms and floors to the tropical hardwoods. The textiles, furniture, and lighting are also creations of Mexican artisans, acquired in cities such as Oaxaca, Mérida, and San Miguel de Allende.”
AD Mexico
“Casa Rosada reflects a sense of adventure and whimsy and the idea of ‘why not?’”

“Mexico feels like pink to me, so I chose a melon-ish, terra-cotta–type shade. It has this warmth that holds you.”

“The idea was to make it look as if we found the courtyard ‘as is’ and built a modern structure around it.”

“I felt as though I'd stepped into someone's AI incarnation of an aesthetic girl's trip. The flood of DMs I received after posting just one photo of the home confirmed it was what others dream of, too.”

“As far as the design concept, I wanted Casa Rosada to pay homage to Mexican architectural history, so we found inspiration from historical homes in Mexico. I've always loved homes with a central courtyard, so that quickly became a core idea, and I'm a romantic, so the sound of the fountain and the idea of filling the courtyard with candles at night sounded dreamy.”

“Vacation homes are different from everyday life—they’re built around play and a strong sense of place.”

“We chose materials that would age beautifully, such as copper outdoor showers, which patina in the most magical way.”
