Winnetka Cedar House

PROJECT
A 1913 cedar-shake house in Winnetka, revived with layers of pattern, a little whimsy, and a touch of old-school romance. It’s classic on the outside, full of personality inside—and proof that tradition doesn’t have to be boring.INSPIRATION
The idea was nostalgia, but not the stuffy kind. We imagined a timeless home where grandkids could run around, holidays feel like magic, and every room holds a memory in the making.
THE CLIENT
We first worked together on a cool, city apartment for their empty-nester era. Years later, they called with a new brief: build the ultimate grandma-grandpa house. Same spirit, more gingham.
