Winnetka Cedar House

PROJECT

A 1913 cedar-shake house in Winnetka, revived with layers of pattern, a little whimsy, and a touch of old-school romance. It’s classic on the outside, full of personality inside—and proof that tradition doesn’t have to be boring.

INSPIRATION

The idea was nostalgia, but not the stuffy kind. We imagined a timeless home where grandkids could run around, holidays feel like magic, and every room holds a memory in the making.

THE CLIENT

We first worked together on a cool, city apartment for their empty-nester era. Years later, they called with a new brief: build the ultimate grandma-grandpa house. Same spirit, more gingham.
