You say the word, "pink" and immediately your husband starts to groan. There's a no pink, no fluffy pillows, and no glittery prints rule in your house - but sometimes (aka, usually) rules were meant to be broken, especially when it comes to chic interiors. So perhaps stick with blush when selling the idea to your hubby. Needless to say, you need some blush interior design inspiration to get the mind going. Image above via
As a lover of all things bold and bright - sometimes a pop of pink is exactly what a space needs. And you can (kindly) remind your husband - happy wife, happy life! While it gets a bad rep for being overly feminine, pink accents can be paired with mixed metals fixtures, lacquered black doors, and grey accents to add a serious wow factor to any room, without being overly girly. I'm constantly dreaming up color combinations for my clients and my own home, and blush seems to be in the mix for lots of ideas these days whether it is a pink sofa, a blush banquette, or more. Blush and grey is just one example that gets my heart going. Take a peek at a few of my favorite inspirations for a gorgeous (and perfectly balanced!) blush interior spaces.
So, case and point: A pop of feminine blush tones paired with more masculine touches makes for a gorgeous room that's a perfect mix of girly and sophisticated. If your husband doesn't happen to be a fan of blush, maybe a little compromise is in order (we're thinking grey rug + a beautiful blush wall!). Either way - the interior design is your territory so own it!
And I'd be remiss if I didn't share one of my favorite blush closets that I designed in the Lincoln Park Vintage Remodel project.
