Some colors were meant to be together, and that's how I feel about coral, gold and black.
There's something about that perfect shade of coral - its not too orange, its not too pink - that really gets me excited. So when a client gives me the go-ahead to use it, I jump at the chance. When designing a foyer for a single family home in Lincoln Park, we took that leap and filled the space with funky eccentricities and vintage art to make a bold foyer. It even appeared in Domino. Check out the full house design to see a few other coral touches in the master bedroom as well.
I chose coral for the walls in the foyer (that's what you call them to keep the husband from saying 'no' to pink) paired with a white vintage side table, and lots of gold gilded frames. I love the gallery wall we created with perfectly mis-matched frames and an assortment of vintage paintings, sketches and art to bring even more personality to the vibrant space. Paired with a pretty striped black and white carpet runner and a vintage rug, the mixed prints create a funky but sophisticated space to welcome anyone who comes to visit. I doubt there's anyone who has walked into this foyer and yawned...it draws you in and gets your eyes dancing across the art!
Since you can never have too much inspiration - here are a couple other pretty coral, gold, and black color combination rooms! I especially love that nursery - so sweet!
And this nursery? Swoon. I'll take these coral drapes and black polka dot combo any day!
